German Medals & Militaria
Cased Knights Cross of the Iron Cross | Klein & Quenzer | Provenance
December 2024 Highlights & News
Our December Highlights are showcasing three rare and particularly desirable artifacts from the period of Germany’s Third Reich.
Our first Highlight for December is a stunning example of a cased Knights Cross of the Iron Cross by the sought after manufacture, Klein & Quenzer. This highly desirable Knights Cross remains in close to mint condition , and benefits from a full Detlev Niemann certificate. It also confirms in weight and details to those outlined by the Knights Cross expert, Dietrich Maerz.
Secondly we offer an exceptional Allgemeine-SS Officer tunic for an SS-Untersturmfuhrer with SS-Totenkopfverbande ‘1’, Oberbayern. The tunic retains the rare vertical officer’s skull collar patch, with the embroidered ‘1’ underneath. The tunic is has all its original insignia, including the ‘Oberbayern’ cuff title, and ‘old comrades’ chevron. The tunic is completed with a fine set of silver wire parade aiguillettes.
Our last Highlight for December is an incredibly rare Diplomatic / Government High Officials brocade belt and buckle. This high officials example is seldom seen, and bears a large central golden brocade strip, with black thinner stripes, and with silver outer brocade bands. The brocade belt is complete with its golden eagle/swastika buckle, and both brocade slides.
We have now started adding a fine array of visor caps to the website, these spread across all spectrums of the Third Reich, military, political and civil. We will continue to add visor caps from this collection to the website over the next couple of months. Other items worthy of mention are some beautiful examples of the German Cross award (see under medals, Knights Cross & Iron Cross).
We also have some rare and desirable signed documents, these include a rare Himmler signed document, which has been counter-signed by Heydrich, along with an actual photo postcard of the Braunes Haus signed by Heydrich. Additionally, there is a good consignment of military and civil daggers, which has been recently added to the site, along with a small collection of SS daggers.
Our section devoted to rare collectors books, including many Bender Published titles, is worth a look as well, with a fair number of rare to find books added recently. We have now added a new category under books, entitled – Third Reich Research Material. This category will hold a mixture of research books, photographs and archive files available, as we start to populate this category.
To those with an interest in all things relating to military clocks & watches, the long-awaited final volume of our German Military Timepiece publications has been completed. The final volume devoted to the Luftwaffe is now in stock, and is listed within our German Military Books category.
As always, please do check Take-A Pop, as some excellent items have been discounted by the consigners, of particular note is the last item from the Clayton Collection, a Kaisermarine Station Pointer from £875 to £250, a bargain indeed ! We have also just been instructed to discount the fine Nuremberg desk eagle from £2750 to £1750, that really does represent excellent value for the canny collector.
There is also a large number of Dealer Lot groups, which allows us to dispose of lower value remnants from various collections, and at the same time offering you the chance to buy lots at very advantageous prices.
Do take a moment to check out our Take A Pop category. Here you will find heavily discounted end-of-consignments. Your chance to find a bargain without compromising quality.
