Background to Dr Hugo Jury: Born 13th July 1887, Mährisch Rothmühl (now Moravská Radiměř, Radiměř, Czech Republic) Died 8th May 1945, Zwettl, Lower Austria).
Jury was a physician later becoming a National Socialist politician. From 11th March to 13th March 1938, Jury was Minister for Social Administration in the Seyß-Inquart government. In May 1938, Jury became Gauleiter of the Gau of "Reichsgau Niederdonau" (Lower Austria). As of 1940 Jury was also Reich Governor, and as of 1942 , became Reich Defence Commissar, for this region.
Jury, a radical Nazi, chose to commit suicide at the end of World War II, rather than to surrender to the allies.
