Bavarian OR Pickelhaube | M1915

Bavarian ORs pickelhaube for sale. The un-tampered pickelhaube showing light wear and age. The helmet body with two original holes (grommeted in steel), for the M1915 Bavarian front-plate. The distance between the  holes is 52.00mm, and therefore the pickelhaube will only accommodate a Bavarian front-plate.

The lining to the helmet with original vegetable-tanned, lamb skin leather 8-finger liner. The ink-stamp to the shell, with a rectangle bearing the designation "147 BDIII 1915" (Bekleidungsamt III). Good clear impressed marking to the right-hand of the rear visor "14 JR’ (Kgl. Bayer. 14. Infanterie-Regt. Hartmann (Nürnberg) III Bayer. Armee Korps).

Condition report: Both V-shaped leather wedges are intact and appear to be the originals. Both the original Reich-cockade and Bavarian- cockade are in very good to excellent condition, with just light ageing and paint loss. The chinstrap is an original, and appears to have been brown in colour at some time.
