A Napoleonic shako plate for sale.  The 1812, universal pattern officer shako plate typically die-stamped and hand-finished, with  maker trademark stamped to the 'G' mongoram. Reverse with blackened finish being typical for both these particular shako plates, and  universal pattern gorgets.

Condition report: overall excellent condition with 95% mercuric gilt finish still remaining intact. One fixing loop missing to the shako plate reverse.

Note: Extremely rare: 1812 pattern shako plates were used for a comparatively short period [1812-1816].
