SA Dagger By Eickhorn. Transitional. 1933 Pattern.
An SA dagger for sale made by Eichorn, Solingen. The 'transitional period' SA dagger with a pleasant wood grip fitting neatly to the upper- and lower cross guards. Albeit a transitional period dagger dating from 1938, this particular SA dagger retains solid nickel-silver mounts throughout, the lower cross guard bearing the Gruppe stamp 'Wf', and a benchmark '4' underneath.
The blade retains much polish and cross grain (98%) with just the typical runner marks showing. The Eickhorn trademark and RZM M7/66 '1938' designation are clear. The scabbard retains 98% original dark brown paint and is free from dents. The bottom ball is in overall excellent condition. Given the relatively late manufacture date (1938), this is likely to be one of the last, 'early quality made daggers.'
An excellent and particularly scarce, SA,'transitional period' dagger by Eickhorn.
