Manufactured by the prestigious firm of Jacobs & Co (RZM M7/118)

German SA  presentation dagger for sale. The high-quality SA dagger made during the 1930s, and  presented to a member of SA-Gebirgsschützen-Standarte 1. The fine light, fruit wood grip fits perfectly to the upper and lower crossguards. The nickel-silver eagle & swastika  motif and Runes eye of fine quality, and the eagle/swastika particularly sharp and well detailed.

The SA dagger with  typical, nickel-silver plated mounts thoughout as would be expected, and the lower crossguard  devoid of the Gruppe stamp. The obverse to the blade has the 'Alles für Deutschland' motto. The reverse shows the RZM mark and M7/118 code designation for Jacobs & Co.  The RZM-issued blade with typical light-etched motto. The top mount to the scabbard with  the presentation dedication, 'ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DEN STURM 2 G.S.1 1934 - 1938.' Scabbard shell with fine, medium-to-dark paint-finish.

Condition report: Nickel-silver plated mounts in excellent state of preservation, free from unsightly pitting. The grip perfect and of beautiful quality. The dagger blade retains a good polished appearance; much of the original crossgrain has disappeared (tip slightly bent). The scabbard with 99.5% original brown paint finish (typical slight micro-blistering under the paint surface in places). Bottom ball perfect. All screws present. The  SA dagger complete with its original, leather hanging-strap. The spring clip bearing the RZM, M5/74, and 'OLC' trademarks.

Note: SA Gebirgsschützen-Standarte 1 was based in St.Veit near Salzburg, Austria. Given the dedication, it would appear this particular SA dagger was presented to the commander of the 2nd Sturm upon leaving the unit (to join the army).  The remarkable quality and condition may also account for the SA dagger being a 'presentation piece.'

Subject to further research, it may be possible to establish the 2nd Sturm Commander's name.
