A rare  SS 'SD' sleeve diamond worn by officers with the Sicherheitsdienst. The diamond has the finely embroidered 'split 'D' type 'SD' letters on a fine back doeskin material which is backed to field-grey. This particular SS sleeve diamond insignia, has silver-aluminum edge piping, which appears to have been added to the insignia after initial manufacture.
