U-Boat Clock. Kieninger & Obergfell.
A U-Boat clock for sale made by Kieninger & Obergfell. The WW2, German U-Boat clock, with brass case, and air-tight, hinged front with screwed front glass. The silvered clock dial with black numbers, eagle/swastika 'M', and serial number '3411 N.'
The case-back to the Kriegsmarine U-Boat clock with much of its blackened finish, and the impressed case/movement number.
Condition report: Excellent condition; the brass case free from dents or damage, and retaining the three, projecting panels, with holes for securing the clock to the ship's bulkhead. The dial in excellent condition (far above average), with 98% of the original, silvered-finish remaining, and 100% black infill to the numbers and motifs. The hinge assembly and closing-point still tight, and capable of maintaining an airtight seal. In working condition. No warranty implied.
Provenance: The U-Boat clock was removed from a surrendered German U-Boat, located off the Scottish coast at the end of WW2. Sold through Bonhams auction house.
