Waffen-SS General rank tunic. The four-pocket SS-Gruppenführer tunic with closed dark green collar. Beautiful quality field grey wool gabardine tailored tunic with dark green collar and four pleated pockets.

The tunic retains the fine quality matched pair epaulettes with typical 'large' silvered pip, on entwined gold & silver braids, on a grey doeskin base. The collar patches with three silver-aluminium wire oakleaves and one pip on black velvet and silver-aluminium edge piping (tailor machined to the collar). The silver-aluminium sleeve eagle & swastika ,particularly fine with fine seperated wings and finished on a black doeskin backing.

The SS tunic has a large array of medal loops, including loops for a German Cross (Gold or Silver), long ribbon bar, and four awards to the left-hand pocket area. The tailored lining in a field-grey silk with sleeve linings in white with 'tailors stripes.'The SS tunic does not have a name-tag.

Condition report: Overall excellent condition with just light use showing. Insignia fresh and free from oxidation. There are a few small moth holes to the lower pockets and bottom of cuffs. Evidence that a cuffband was carried at some point, although it lappears to have been removed some time ago.

Provenance: Originally part of the Samuel Carmichael SS Collection assembled in the 1980s.
