Waffen-SS white summer Tunic

Favoured wear when serving in Italy

The four-pocket, Waffen-SS Infantry Hauptsturmführer tunic with closed collar, pleated upper-, and lower- pockets, standard French cuffs, and loops for two awards. The tunic with  typical 'Extra Fein' buttons: the second button to the front placket with an Iron Cross 2nd Class ribbon.

The SS tunic with detachable collar patch insignia with silver-wire piping and silver-aluminium wire Runes, on black doeskin. The rank patch insignia in matching cloth, with three silver-metal pips, and two brocade strips.

The matching, detachable epaulettes for the rank of Hauptsturmführer. Silver braid with white silk piping, and typical black wool bases. Two golden pips to each.

Fine-quality detachable SS officer eagle & swastika insignia to the left sleeve.

Condition report: The Summer tunic in overall very good to excellent condition, free from stains or other damage. Showing just light wear overall, particularly to the collar and cuffs. The insignia clean and fresh.

Notes: Waffen-SS white Summer service tunics are particularly rare and collectable: the tunics were often worn in the Italian theatre of war. The tunic for sale being typical for the Italian theatre of war and consigned from an important European collection.
