Provenance: Zimmermann's Blood Order Medal '582', documents and citation, were purchased from the Zimmermnn family in the 1970s by the respected German document collector, Kay Max Brüggemann. Brüggemann, (who was not a medal collector), later sold the Blood Order, but maintained the documents for his collection.

When the author-publisher, Klaus Patzwall, was writing, Das Ehrenzeichen Vom 9. November 1923, he asked Brüggemann if  he could include selected Blood Order documents in the book. Amongst others, Brüggemann allowed several  Hans Zimmermann Blood Order documents to be published. The documents feature on pages 4, 6, 14, 27, 29.*

The 1st pattern Blood Order Medal consigned for sale is fresh to-the-market, having been in just two collections since the 1970s.
