Condition report: The Cased German Cross is offered for sale in excellent condition with the highly-polished silver edge rays. The black enamel swastika is in excellent condition, free from any damage (a few minute scratches to the high point of the centre, showing that this award was issued and worn). The silver centre perfect. The golden wreath complete with 85% mercuric gilt finish, and with  nicely polished bands. The grey anodised rays in excellent condition, with only the very high points showing loss of paint finish (98% anodised finish remaining). Reverse silver finish showing just light use. The small solid rivets intact and the assembly tight. The '1'  maker code perfect and clear. The polished pin assembly fine and working.

The black leatherette case in excellent overall condition. The leatherette in good order, free from adverse wear. The inside to the case, fine with the white silk lid lining clean. The white silk hinge-protector free from undue fraying. The base showing just light wear at the point where the award  may have been removed, and returned to the case.

Note: The Deschler manufactured German Cross is heavier than German Crosses by other manufacturers.
