An excellent  Hong Kong Plague Medal [HKPM] awarded to Private F.Farrer of the Shropshire Light Infantry. The top suspension to the medal is removed, and a brooch-style fitting mounted to the reverse. The HKPM  is offered for sale complete with a HKPM ribbon bar. The disc and ribbon bar retained within an old Victorian leather box.

Condition report: Pleasing patina to the silver disc. Condition very good to excellent. Ribbon bar showing light use.

Note: The medal has never previously been in a collection, or openly offered for sale.

Provenance: The Hong Kong Plague Medal together with matching ribbon bar were retained by the Farrer family until 2002. Thereafter the medal was sold to an antiques dealer, and in turn purchased by Ulric of England.
