The sextant made by the notable Plath, Hamburg. The sextant complete and marked with the Plath, maker name and address, Kriegsmarine eagle & swastika motif, and letter 'M', plus the 'm' number '7267'
The inside to the sextant carry case lid with the original sextant's 'Prüfungsschein' dated 17th May 1943, held within a clear celluloid panel inside the lid. The wood kriegsmarine sextant case with an aluminium carry handle.
Condition report: The sextant in clean condition, free from damage. The wood carry-case showing typical light use.
Provenance: Acquired for the Clayton German Naval Collection in the 1990s.
