Kriegsmarine Ships clock for sale. The Bakelite & aluminium WW2 Kriegsmarine clock made by Junghans.Silvered dial with black numbers. Subsidiary seconds at the 12.0 position. Adjustment for time keeping directly below the 12.0 position. Lower centre with Junghans name and logo, along with the winding section below the logo, and the eagle / swastika & M above the 6.0 position. Aluminium surround with glass front. The cover hinged to the left and with fastener to the right. Main body of the clock in dark brown Bakelite. 8-Day Calibre W246 movement. Three holes for fixing to a wall.
Condition report: The clock dial and case in good overall condition. Some general wear to the dial in places. Copver in good condition. Bakelite in good condition and free from cracks or other damage. Movement functioning. No warranty implied.
Provenance: Acquired in the early 1980s from Jersey, Channel Islands, and sold to ULRIC of ENGLAND in the 1980s. Featured in German Military Timepieces Volume 2 page 59, and German Military Timepieces Volume 4 pages 112 / 113 / 114
Notes: The Junghans ships clock is believed to have been manufactured later in the war when brass was becoming a restricted metal for war effort. They are rare to find on the market today.
