Kriegsmarine U-Boat issue, luminous dial-deck watch for sale, made by  Lange & Söhne. The watch with silver metal case, chromed metal loop and crown. The luminous dial with 1-12 hour digits, subsidiary power-reserve register, and 60-second register. The case-back (press fit) bearing the Kriegsmarine 'M' number (M 12998), and work number (200384). Faint outlines of an eagle & swastika motif.

The outer case-back removes to expose an inner hinged movement protector. This engraved with the names for Lange & Söhne, and Andreas Huber, (who undertook the final-finishing to this timepiece). The movement with brass-bridges and swan-neck regulation. The movement with corresponding movement-numbers.

Condition report: The case with light wear overall. The dial remaining perfect with good luminosity and clear black numbers. The hands with perfect blued finish. The case-back with  the original eagle & swastika in  faint outlines, and largely lost. The motif probably removed just after the defeat of Germany in 1945 (de-Nazification), enabling the deck watch to be continued in use by the allied-German naval operations (general mine-clearing work and other such post-war clearing work). The movement in overall very good condition. Functioning (no warranty implied).
