Luftwaffe Robot Aircraft camera for sale. The camera with its original tele-photo lens and film cans. The Luftwaffe fighter pilot 'Robot' camera complete, and marked 'Luftwaffen Eigentum' to the body and lens.The Luftwaffe 'Robot' camera marked correctly to the inside with the Fl serial number.

Condition report: The camera showing some general use. Some losses of black paint. Viewers glass clean. The camera seems to function, although it is an agreed condition of sale that the buyer is purchasing the camera as a military artifact, and not as a working camera.

Background to the Robot camera:The Robot camera was the invention of Otto Berning, who took out a patent for the Robot camera in 1934. The Luftwaffe saw the usefullness in this type of camera, and gave Berning contracts for specific Robot cameras. These were marked Luftwaffe Eigentum, and also had the FL serial number. The Robot cameras were used in various ways. Often mounted in the wings of BF109's or FW190's aircraft to be used as gun cams. Likewise, they could also be used as a handheld camera. In both situations the cameras were also employed extensively for reconnaissance purposes.
