Waffen-SS Officer Visor Cap 

Great combat used patina, veteran acquired

The SS visor cap with the body in a good quality field-grey wool, along with a fine black velvet capband and white piping. The visor cap retains its cupro-nickel eagle/swastika, skull, and silver-aluminium capcords. The SS visor cap is lined in a typical grey silk, and with a dark grey leather sweatband.

Condition report: The visor cap overall good condition. General service wear evident, and a few small moth nips.  The SS cap insignia showing light use with most silvering present. The eagle/swastika loose, and with one pin broken. The fibre-peak showing slight age cracking. The cap lining  showing some overall use, the celluliod diamond now missing. Greasing to the leather sweatband, and some splits. A section broken away at the front.

Provenance: Veteran purchased by the USA-based collector, Bob Coleman. Then acquired from Coleman for the Meadway collection in 2008.
