A Royal Navy deck watch for sale. The Observer quality,  H.S.4. deck watch  made by Golay & Son, London.

The front unscrews to reveal the H.S.4 deck watch mounted to the inside, within a rubberised protector.  An opening at the top allows the winder stem to protrude. The deck watch with black finished front case frame, which allows movement of the black outer dial scale. The inner dial in white china with black Roman numerals, 1-12.

To the dial centre, the number '196', and company  name 'H.Golay & Son, Ltd, London'. The caseback with designation, 'H,' 'WD Arrow,' and 'S.4.'

Caseback unscrews to reveal the gilted bridges to the movement and bimetallic balance with screw weights. Both the main case, and the caseback are impressed with the matching dial number '196'

Condition report: The watch in excellent overall condition. Dial excellent (maker name faint but legible). Moving inner bezel, clean and moves without difficulty. Nickle-silver case-back clean, free from damage, and with the H.S. designation clear and sharp. Movement in clean condition and functioning. No warranty implied.
